David Calderwood

Chairman

David is a Chartered Engineer and an FIEE, and has over thirty years of technology management team building and oversight. He brings to the board experience of growing and working with the management teams of some of the most successful new UK advanced technology companies. 

With an early career background in acoustics in telecommunications, semiconductors and consumer electronics he also has experience of working directly with HiWave’s target market.

James Lewis

Chief Executive Officer

HiWave's CEO James Lewis joined the board of NXT in October 2009 as a non-executive director, and took up the role of Chief Executive Officer in August 2010. Previously he had co-founded Oxford Semiconductor in 1992, and set up its US subsidiary in 2000, spending several years in California. The privately funded start-up grew to a 150 person global business before Lewis left to take on a portfolio of board positions including becoming chairman of a clean-tech materials company. His background in creating and building technology companies has enabled the business model transformation, investment and rebranding that has created HiWave to commercialise the technology developed by NXT.

Clive Mayne

Non Executive Director

Clive Mayne joins HiWave as Non Exec Director on 1st October 2011. He brings 20 years experience of board level executive roles in technology companies ranging from multi-cultural international businesses to the founding and leadership of start-up companies. These include COO Technetix, broadband technology, CEO of ZBD, an innovative electronic paper display technology, Co-Founder of Red-M, enterprise wireless solutions, and mature high technology businesses Madge Networks, Fujifilm Electronic Imaging and Crosfield Electronics. He is also Managing Partner of ExeTec Consulting assisting companies to commercialise leading technology products.

David McIntosh

Non Executive Director

avid McIntosh has a broad experience ranging from running large public sector organisations including the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service, to specialist technology businesses Snell & Wilcox Group and OmniPerception, where he was founding CEO and subsequently Non-Executive Director until the company’s recent takeover by Visimetrics. He is Chairman of Zenlock Security Systems and 3rd Forensic Ltd.

Graham Searle

Non Executive Director

Graham Searle has held top positions in global businesses including Group Managing Director at Dunhill Holdings plc, Deputy Chairman of Laura Ashley and Senior Non-Executive Director of Monsoon plc. He brings international marketing, commercial and financial expertise to the board..
